U.S. Marine Corps veteran Samir Guerrero, of the Miami Beach Police Department, is promoted to the rank of Assistant Chief at Miami Beach City Hall, Miami, April 19, 2022. After serving his country as a United States Marine, Guerrero became a police officer and continued serving his community. He has served in a variety of positions in his 26 years with Miami Beach Police Department including: criminal investigations, special operations, patrol operations, range master, off-duty staffing, Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT), traffic homicide, DUI/DRE Coordinator, training advisor for Police Academy recruits, and overseeing the Operations Division.
