U.S. Army National Guard Soldiers of the South Carolina National Guard conduct a deployment ceremony for Company A, 1-111th General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB), 59th Aviation Troop Command, April 20, 2022, at the Army Aviation Support Facility (Location 1), at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, South Carolina. The South Carolina National Guard will deploy approximately 50 Soldiers and eight UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters from the 1-111th GSAB to the Sinai Peninsula, in support of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) peacekeeping mission. The MFO’s overarching mission is to supervise and monitor the implementation of the security provisions of the Egyptian-Israeli Treaty of Peace as well as contribute to preventing any violations of the treaty.
