PACIFIC OCEAN (April 9, 2022) – Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Jeremiah Tracey uses a leaf-blower to remove water from the flight deck aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), April 9. Removing water from the deck prevents corrosion from saltwater buildup. Makin Island is a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship underway conducting routine operations in U.S. 3rd Fleet.
