Rania Subiah Aburabi, who oversees quality control at the National Fish Canning and Packing Factory in Hadramout, Yemen, speaks to employees in February 2022. USAID supported the factory to improve its quality control procedures to meet global standards. As a result, the company has expanded and hired new employees – 60 percent of whom are women. “In our communities, most women have a minimal level of education, and they face difficult challenges in finding employment,” Rania said. “The National Fish Canning and Packing Factory invested in those women by offering them jobs and training.”
