A teacher leads a remedial education class at the Saeed Shayef School in the Tor Al Baha District of the Lahj Governorate in Yemen on December 19, 2021. For about two months, the daily two-hour classes provide children additional support to acquire foundational literacy and numeracy skills to be successful in school. USAID funded the training of teachers on remedial strategies and on the provision of supplementary educational materials. USAID also supported the identification of more than 6,300 at-risk children to participate in the program.
