Staff Sgt. Thomas Barry, a Transportation Management Coordinator assigned to the 842nd Transportation Battalion, 597th Transportation Brigade, inspects a light wheeled vehicle during the 597th Transportation Brigade Noncommissioned of the Quarter competition at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. March 16.
The events included a 12-mile road march, a land navigation course, first aid and a board evaluation.
The Purpose of this competition is to provide a process to select on a quarterly basis one NCO and one Soldier that exemplifies Army Core Values, Physical Readiness, and Proficiency in selected Warrior Tasks, to establish the administrative, nomination, and selection requirement for 597th Transportation Brigade NCO and Soldier of the Quarter.
The winner of the NCO and Soldier categories will advance and be nominated to compete in the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Best Warrior Competition.
