A V-22 Osprey, with Japan’s 1st Amphibious Rapid Deployment Regiment (1ARDR) inserts Japanese soldiers to conduct bilateral combat maneuver drills with U.S. Marines at Combined Arms Training Center (CATC) Camp Fuji, Japan, March 15, 2022. The drills allowed the 1ARDR to hone their combat maneuvers during bilateral operations to create a more cohesive force. Maritime Defense Exercise Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade is a bilateral exercise meant to increase interoperability and strengthen ties between U.S. and Japanese forces for the defense of Japan.
