U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Michael E. Langley, the commanding general of Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic (FMFLANT), Marine Forces Command (MARFORCOM), Marine Forces Northern Command (MARFOR NORTHCOM), observes the museum displays aboard the USS Arlington (LPD 24), a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock, moored at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, March 15, 2022. The USS Arlington is named in commemoration of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and was officially commissioned Feb. 8, 2013, but its ceremonial commissioning occurred on April 6, 2013. The U.S. Marine Corps and Navy continue to provide the networked and skilled capabilities for effective integrated deterrence to hold adversaries accountable and stand by our allies and partners.
