U.S. Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), and Japanese soldiers with the 1st Amphibious Rapid Deployment Regiment conduct mission planning during a staff exercise for Maritime Defense Exercise Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade (MDX-ARDB) at Camp Ainoura, Nagasaki, Japan, Feb. 27, 2022. During the staff exercise, leaders from both sides shared planning procedures in preparation for the training.
