Newly promoted U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Austin Raposa, an Officer Selection Officer for Recruiting Station New Jersey, is promoted to his new rank by his parents at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza, New York, Mar. 4, 2022. Many Marines choose to have their ceremonies conducted at Ground Zero as it is symbolic to their initial motivations for wanting to join the military.
