Joy Quary, from Ardmore, Oklahoma and a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 158th Field Artillery Regiment, 45th Field Artillery Brigade, Oklahoma Army National Guard, returns from completing the land navigation challenge at the Best Warrior Competition at Camp Gruber Training Center, Oklahoma, March 4, 2022. The competition is a three-day annual event that brings together top-tier Soldiers to test their proficiency in a variety of warrior tasks and drills. The competitors endure tests in land navigation, marksmanship and weapons skills, an assault course, a written essay and an appearance before a board of sergeants major, all culminating in a 12-mile ruck march.
