A District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG) Soldier provides ground-guide assistance to a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle as it backs into position at a D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD)-designated traffic control point in the District of Columbia March 1, 2022. Approximately 700 Soldiers from DCNG, New Jersey, Vermont, and West Virginia National Guards were activated to assist MPD and the U.S. Capitol Police with traffic control in anticipation of First Amendment demonstrations in the District of Columbia.
