    3rd Division Sustainment Brigade

"I think this is a great idea to highlight the way that Army spouses deal with deployment because it equalizes us - no matter the rank, we all miss our soldiers. Last summer when 1st Brigade was coming home from Korea, Susatinment was heading out the door. I was sad to watch our Providers leave, but I was so happy for the Raider families. It feels bittersweet to experience it in reverse now. My Soldier and I are finishing our 8th deployment right now. He has deployed at every level, and no matter what the rank, it is hard for all of us. I have learned so many things about my Army community and have met some of the strongest people in the world. We are there for each other with sick kids and lonely nights. Sometimes you have to look for it, but it is there. I went home to my family for deployments when we were younger, but now I stay. I like being with people who are in the same boat as I am. I have taken every class that ACS offers. I have volunteered at schools, with my kids' activities, and with SFRGs. Being involved is the best way for me to deal with the separation. I like knowing what is going on and feeling like I am a part of things. And the relationships that I have built through deployments are forever, even when the Army moves us apart. There are absolutely hard days. And it is ok to give in to the sadness and spend a day or so wallowing in the loneliness. But reach out. Make friends. Get involved. Call your Rear D. You are not alone!"
