Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Virginia (Feb. 23, 2022) Rear Admiral Joseph DiGuardo, commander, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command and Rear Admiral Marc Lederer, deputy commander, Military Sealift Command along with representatives and science advisors from the Office of Naval Research, conduct a rapid hydrogen production evolution as part of a science and technology demonstration. The collaborative effort utilized the hydrogen production for a balloon lift in support of communications relay capability. The demonstration was part of an ongoing relationship between the two organizations to explore ideas, technologies, and concepts which have potential application within our force, and support modernization efforts.
