The Vultee V-1A ten passenger transport of 1934. The aircraft was all metal, with stressed-skin construction and was equipped with an NACA cowling, variable pitch propeller and retractable landing gear. The V-1A was designed by Gerald Vultee who had been associated with the development of some of the early high performance Lockheed aircraft. The last example of this type aircraft is at the Shannon Aircraft Museum in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
