Soldiers assigned to 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, clear the landing zone of a CH-47 Chinook during sling load operations training at Fort Carson, Colorado, Feb. 9, 2022. Helicopter sling load operations are used extensively in the ship-to-shore movement of cargo and equipment during amphibious operations, movement of supplies and equipment over the battlefield for firepower emplacement.
