Dr. David Tonn, a senior engineer in the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport’s Antennas and Electronic Warfare Sensors Branch of the Undersea Warfare Electromagnetic Systems Department, has won the 2020 Office of Naval Research Prize for Affordability for his work on the development of advanced antenna technologies that led to a new type of buoyant cable antenna for use by the U.S. Navy submarine fleet.
