A U.S. Army Soldier assigned to 1270th Tactical Psychological Operations Detachment aids an “Atropian civilian” roleplayer during an exercise at the National Training Center, Ft. Irwin, California, Jan. 24, 2022. During the scenario, specialized teams helped 1-2 Stryker Brigade conduct stability operations and “consolidate gains” following large-scale combat. Civil Affairs and PSYOP Soldiers pieced together the puzzle of complex connections between local groups and either friendly or enemy forces, while assessing the effects of war in civilian areas.
