(Feb. 8, 2022) Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Russell Smith reads a display covering the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System (AFMES) efforts to identify deceased service members during a tour of the facilities at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. Smith and Sgt. Maj. of the Marine Corps Troy E. Black visited Dover to become familiar with the dignified return of fallen American service members. Dover also hosts the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations and Joint Personal Effects Depot (JPED).
