An M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System belonging to a U.S. Marine Corps scout sniper is rested on the floor of the hangar bay aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) prior to a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) operation Philippine Sea, Feb. 2, 2022. VBSS training reinforces the Marine Corps’ presence within the weapons engagement zone by having a team ready to act in a moment’s notice.
