U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Joelle Eusebio, a Corpsman with 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), begins to treat a notional casualty of a vehicle rollover on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 28, 2022. The mass casualty response mission allows the 31st MEU to reach victims of an attack, natural disaster or other emergent events when local medical and reactionary forces are unable to provide proper medical care. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of America Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
