    220102-N-UP745-2265 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Jan. 2, 2022) U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Cole (DDG 67), USS Gravely (DDG 107), USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109), USS Roosevelt (DDG 80), and USS Ross (DDG 71), the Turkish Gabya-class frigate TCG Goksu (F-497) and Italian Carlo Bergamini-class frigate Carlo Margottini (F-592) conduct maneuvering operations in the Mediterranean Sea, Jan. 2, 2022. These operations demonstrate NATO cohesion and capability through the combination of elements of U.S. Sixth Fleet’s Forward Deployed Naval Forces-Europe, Standing NATO Maritime Group (SNMG) 2, and ships of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG) as a collective surface action group. The HSTCSG is on a regularly scheduled deployment in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to maintain maritime security, and defend U.S. allied and partner interest in Europe and Africa.
