Airmen from the 27th Special Operations Mission Support Group, Detachment 1, Mission Sustainment Team 2, pack a tent while tearing down their campsite during the final hours of Exercise Arctic Ice, near Allen Army Airfield, AK, Nov. 5, 2021. Arctic Ice was designed to test MST 2’s speed and ability to set-up, sustain and tear-down livable operations centers in extreme austere environments. The skills displayed by MST 2 aligned with Gen. Charles Q. Brown’s “Accelerate Change or Lose” initiative, keeping the Air Force Special Operations Command and the 27 SOW relevant in the great power competition.
