Airmen from the 27th Special Operations Mission Support Group, Detachment 1, Mission Sustainment Team 2, secure a canvas tent cover to a post during Exercise Arctic Ice near Allen Army Airfield, AK, Nov. 2, 2021. Arctic Ice was designed to push MST 2 to their limits and prove what they could provide to ulterior units in extreme cold conditions. The Mission Sustainment Team concept was stood up in response to Gen. Charles Q. Brown’s “Accelerate Change or Lose” initiative, keeping the 27 SOW and the Air Force relevant and prepared in the current great power competition.
