A Marine assigned to the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, sets up a drop zone marker during a helicopter high altitude, low opening (HALO) parachute jump training at Yokota Air Base, Japan, Dec. 13, 2021. U.S. Marines and a U.S. Air Force Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) specialist conducted week-long jump training using Air Force and Navy aircraft. The training supports the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command’s dynamic force employment (DFE) concept through agile combat employment (ACE), which supports the National Defense Strategy effort to conduct training with joint partners while maintaining global peace and security.
