    Shock Trauma Platoon at MEUEX

U.S. Navy Sailors with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), treat a notional patient during a shock trauma platoon training event for MEU exercise (MEUEX) at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 10, 2021. The shock trauma platoon is a mobile asset that can stabilize and transport injured personnel from the field to a higher level care facility. MEUEX is a pre-deployment training exercise that validates and reinforces the MEU's mission capabilities across all of the Marine subordinate elements. 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
