U.S. Marine Corps explosive ordinance disposal (EOD) technicians with Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB) 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), craft a custom High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) cart during MEU exercise (MEUEX) on Okinawa, Japan Dec. 7, 2021. EOD Marines assembled and evaluated the efficiency of a custom cart that can be utilized to transport HIMARS explosives. MEUEX is a pre-deployment training exercise that validates and reinforces the MEU’s mission capabilities across all of the Marine subordinate elements. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
