NSF was approached with the opportunity to support the Aviation Survival Technician (AST) A-School and their transition to TRACEN Petaluma in early October of 2021.
Aviation Technical Training Center (ATTC) encountered multiple challenges including transferring an entire USCG A-schools worth of training equipment/materials to a location across the country which would have totaled $20,000. The initial plan was for FORCECOM to purchase and ship all new equipment as needed which had an estimated cost of $300,000.
Multiple efforts to coordinate the move between ATTC and TRACEN Petaluma was developed. A line of accounting was provided by ATTC to cover mission costs. The AST A-School requested the possibility of the equipment transport prior to the start of their one week introduction to AST A-School start date of 15 November 2021
