JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. – A Soldier with 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) descends a wall during the obstacle course portion of the Menton Team Competition on Joint Base Lewis McCord, Wash., Dec. 7, 2021. The Menton Team Competition is an annual event held by 1st SFG (A) as part of the weeklong celebration of the 1st Special Service Force who were the predecessors of modern-day Special Forces. During the competition the opposing teams are comprised of six competitors that contend in various challenges, including an ACFT, swim, 9.5-mile ruck march, obstacle course, and a mental acuity test.
