From front, Pfc. Carlos Vidot, a plumber, and Spc. Jesse Marquardt, an infantryman, both assigned to 365th Engineer Battalion, Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, set up a speaker and projector set for a classroom at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, Dec. 7, 2021, as part of Operation Allies Welcome. Task Force McCoy Soldiers installed the projectors and speakers into classrooms to aid Afghan evacuees during their English classes. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan evacuees essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan. (U.S. Army photo by Pfc. Caitlin Wilkins, 50th Public Affairs Detachment)
