U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Kenneth Kurt, a rifleman with 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), prepairs to disembark amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) to execute a raid, Dec. 5, 2021. Kearsarge, the flagship for the 22nd MEU and Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) Six, is underway for Amphibious Ready Group/MEU Exercise (AMX) in preparation for a future deployment. AMX is the second at-sea period in the MEU's Predeployment Training Program; it aims to test the capabilities of the ARG/MEU team in a realistic paced threat environment.
