Members of a DPAA recovery team have been working with local Vietnamese, over the past several weeks in an effort to find a U.S. reconnaissance pilot lost over Central Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The joint cooperation between DPAA and the government of Vietnam has led to the location and identification of the more than 729 personnel missing in action. There are currently 1,584 U.S. service members still unaccounted for from the Vietnam War. DPAA’s mission is to achieve the fullest possible accounting for missing and unaccounted-for U.S. personnel to their families and our nation. (U.S. Air Force photos by Tech. Sgt. Rusty Frank)
