Bags filled with resources to be distributed to veterans are staged in a warehouse during the Veterans Stand Down, Nov. 23, 2021, at New York State Armory, Freeport, New York. The semi-annual Long Island Veterans Stand Down brings together different tri-state organizations including the American Legion, General Needs, and Long Island Cares, among others, to assist with food, clothing, lodging assistance, and generating veteran suicide awareness to help veterans in need.
