(Nov. 19, 2021) Chief Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician Louis Velarde places a chief petty officer (CPO) combination cover on Chief Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician John Ludden during a pinning ceremony for Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (EODGRU) 1 and its subordinate commands onboard Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Calif., Nov. 19. EODGRU-1 and its subordinated commands are a critical part of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF) that clears explosive hazards to provide access to denied areas, secures the undersea domain for freedom of maneuver, builds and fosters relationships with capable and trusted partners, and protects the homeland.
