Airmen from the 56th Civil Engineer Squadron fire department inform military children about what it takes to be a firefighter during Operation Kids Investigating Deployment Services Nov. 13, 2021, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. Operation K.I.D.S. had similar aspects of a deployment within a simulated deployed location and included information booths with unit representatives from readiness, fire department, security forces, and aircraft maintenance. The Airman and Family Readiness Center takes care of Airmen and their families by providing educational resources and holding events such as Operation K.I.D.S., which gives children a better understanding of their parents’ sacrifice and dedication, and allows a dialog within families about deployments.
