Rich Jarrett, Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY), center left, Dr. Janice Bennett, center right, Yokosuka City Mayor Katuaki Kamiji, far right, and Paul Bennett, Dr. Bennett’s husband and an employee of Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center, far left, pose for a photo at a dessert recipe presentation event for Yokosuka City. The recipe for browned butter sweet potato hand pie, the winner of CFAY’s Dessert Bake-Off challenge held on April 12 was created by Dr. Bennett for the purpose of showing appreciation for the host nation’s hospitality. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
