YOKOSUKA, Japan (Nov 18, 2021) — Capt. Rich Jarrett, Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) presents a recipe for browned butter sweet potato hand pie, the winner of CFAY’s Dessert Bake-Off challenge held on April 12, to Yokosuka City Mayor Katsuaki Kamiji, at Yokosuka City Hall, sharing and strengthening the tradition, culture and long-standing friendship between the CFAY and Yokosuka community. The recipe for browned butter sweet potato hand pie, the winner of CFAY’s Dessert Bake-Off challenge held on April 12, was created by Dr. Bennett for the purpose of showing appreciation for the host nation’s hospitality. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
