211110-N-EJ843-0089 GROTON, Conn. (Nov. 10, 2021) Sailors assigned to the Los Angeles-class nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine USS Cheyenne (SSN 773) help firefighters down the hatch as they board the submarine during a firefighting drill. The large-scale exercise was a joint endeavor between Naval Submarine Base New London Fire Department and 18 local emergency response agencies from the surrounding communities in the event community fire departments might be called to support Navy firefighters and submarine crews during a fire onboard.
