Maj. Michael Miller, Task Force McCoy Deputy G6 officer, attends a prayer breakfast hosted at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, Nov. 16, 2021, as part of Operation Allies Welcome. The breakfast included a short sermon from retired Col. Steven Nott, former Fort McCoy garrison commander, and hymns sung by Mary Guthrie, an administrative officer for the 88th Readiness Division here. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
