MISAWA, Japan (Nov. 10, 2021) – Chief Operations Specialist William Gilpin, assigned to Commander Task Force (CTF) 72, waits for a training aircraft to ignite during a controlled aircraft fire training exercise. This is the first time this event has included Sailors, Airmen, and Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) members. NAF Misawa provides aviation and ground logistics support and services to all permanent and transient U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps forces in Northern Japan.
