U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Manny, the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego (MCRD) mascot, oversees recruits with Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion during the M16A4 service rifle issue at MCRD, Nov. 15, 2021. Manny toured the depot ensuring that training was conducted as usual and kept an eye on the training companies. Recruits signed forms, labeled their rifles, and attached a rifle sling while at the armory. Recruits are responsible for the maintenance of their weapons throughout training.
