The senior class portraits of the Fort Knox High School graduating class of 1980 is displayed in the Eagles Football locker room October 29, including General Paul Funk II. The Fort Knox Eagles honored Funk, commanding general, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, and former Eagle football star, with a jersey retirement ceremony during halftime of the final game of the 2021 season. Funk's former coaches surprised him by attending the leader's homecoming ceremony and he attributed his initial leadership training to his mentors.
