WHITE BEACH, Japan (Nov. 15, 2021) A Royal Canadian Navy sailor raises the Canadian flag as the HMCS Winnipeg (FFH 338) ports at Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa White Beach Naval Facility Nov. 15, 2021. The Winnipeg’s visit to Okinawa is a planned port visit as the ship operates in the Indo-Pacific region to support the implementation of United Nations Security Council sanctions imposed against North Korea and to take part in multi-national training with the U.S. Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. CFAO maintains and operates facilities to support the U.S. Navy’s naval and aviation assets in the Indo-Pacific region.
