This week’s Wyvern Fighter of the Week is Senior Airman Bryce Hayden, 31st Security Forces Squadron Delta Flight desk sergeant. This Texan native has been part of Team Aviano for 2 and a half years and during this time Hayden put in the work to be successful.
As a desk sergeant, Hayden maintains responsibility of 62 controlled and five geographically separated areas. Over the last two months, he has garnered two additional mission critical certifications, making him one of few triple certified Senior Airmen in the squadron.
Additionally, Hayden was one of the first Alarm Monitors certified when the program was stood up two months ago. His work ethic led him to overhaul the upgrade training material associated with the Alarm Monitor position, reducing the amount of associated Training Business Area tasks by more than 71%.
Hayden said he gets his inspiration from his mother who showed him it doesn’t matter what situation an individual grows up in, if time and effort is applied, success follows.
That motivation pushes him in each hardship he faces.
“Over the past year my father-in-law has been in and out of the hospital with heart complications,” said Hayden. “With that, it has been hard on my wife and I because we are so far away. This situation has taught me time is precious and to savor every moment you have with the people around you.”
Hayden hopes to become a front-line supervisor in order to help develop future Airmen through what he’s learned and continues to learn.
Wyvern nation thanks you for all that you’re doing, Hayden. Keep up the outstanding work!
