Fort Hood Soldiers download over 4,000 donated winter coats for Afghan guests at Camp Atterbury, Ind., in support of Operation Allies Welcome, Nov. 2, 2021. Donated winter apparel to include coats, shoes, hats, and gloves have been distributed to help Afghan guests through the winter season. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities in permanent or temporary structures as quickly as possible.
