YOKOSUKA, Japan (Oct. 25, 2021) – Seaman Rick Medina, assigned to U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), from Chicago, performs multiple forward and reverse strikes after being sprayed with oleoresin capsicum spray at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka during a security reaction force basic (SRF-B) course Oct. 25, 2021. SRF-B is a course that teaches rules and regulations as an armed watch stander and provides Sailors with proper weapons familiarization, tactical maneuvers and proper use of deadly force. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
