The 124th Fighter Wing holds a change of command ceremony Nov. 7, 2021, at Gowen Field, Idaho, signifying the transfer of authority and command between the outgoing commander Col. Shannon Smith and the incoming commander, Col. Chad Kornberg. Smith has served as the wing’s commander since May 2019 and led the wing through their second largest deployment and Idaho's battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
