CLB-4 deployed an ultra-light logistics package consisting of Marines from various occupational specialties to sustain first echelon forces from Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines in a simulated expeditionary advanced base operations environment. 3d MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III MEF’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
