Maryland National Guard Spc. Damon Dallas, a member of the 58th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, poses for a photo at the Six Flags Mass Vaccination Site on March 4, 2021, in Bowie, Maryland. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. Arcadia Hammack)
Dallas, a Randallstown, Maryland native, is currently working at the Six Flags America Mass Vaccination Site. He has been tasked with “observation”, which is to make sure that the patients have no adverse side effects for 15 minutes after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as traffic duty in the observation area. When Dallas is not supporting the Guard, you can find him working as a cable lineman or further supporting his community by volunteering for the Bea Gaddy Family Center, a homeless shelter in Baltimore, and assisting with coat and toy drives.
“We are here to make sure the patients are safe while they're here waiting, as well as when they go to leave,” said Dallas. “It was something that God put in me to help out wherever I can, and there's a lot of places that need it. So if I see somebody needs some help, I try to help them.”
