    US Navy Seabees with NMCB-5 participate in joint airfield damage repair training

    211022-N-PG340-1242 OKINAWA, Japan (Oct. 22, 2021) Airman 1st Class Francis Matthew Pascual, assigned to 7th Civil Engineer Squadron, surveys the flight line during joint airfield damage repair training onboard Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. The joint training consisted of U.S. Navy Seabees with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, Airmen from 7th and 18th Civil Engineer Squadrons, and Marines from 9th Engineer Support Battalion. NMCB-5 is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations, supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific, strengthening their network of allies and partners, and providing general engineering and civil support to joint operational forces. Homeported out of Port Hueneme, California, NMCB-5 has 13 detail sites deployed throughout the U.S. and Indo-Pacific area of operations.
